CRM 2011 and the Rollup 12

Written by Denis Stadler on . Posted in Dynamics CRM 2011

A CRM 2011 solution was implemented where one of the business requirements stated that the dashboards charts should present a filtering option.

First small disadvantage noticed is that this option can be implemented in a dashboard only at the chart level and not globally for the entire dashboard.

But the big disadvantage was that the CRM Rollup 12 had messed up this functionality: When using a dashboard chart with a View Selector enabled, the chart disappears after changing the view.

For more details check – Update Rollup 12 for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 on MSDN, the Potential Issues topic.

The solution work around found was:

  • Uninstall Rollup 12 (the CRM 2011 system had Rollup 6 and Rollup 12 installed)
  • Install Rollup 11

The main reason for applying the CRM Rollup 12 was that it provided full browser support for both Mozilla and Google Chrome and not only for the Internet Explorer, but the Chart bug was quite nasty to be ignored.
